SHELLEY MARIE

For ShelleyEverything was
planned, quite simple, step by step. And yet all plans
were cast aside by events by whose hand? It was planned
thought at least a few weeks
unwinding from the status of employee, adapting to a new
role, moving into our own
home again no more flats. And then, the title PARENTS - Father
Mother to be ours. The tiny seed of
love, implanted growing, was caught up by the
changes plans and overtook. You were born to us
snatched untimely from your
Mothers womb with six weeks
growing incomplete. We welcomed you. A wave of emotions
washing over me. surrounding me, consuming me. An ecstasy, a
syncopated thumping of my heart as I hold you, my precious little one. The warmth of your
tiny body, head dwarfed by my hand as I press you against my breast is life itself. So precious so
fragile. I tremble at the
enormity of it and wonder at my frailty. I look at you with
love, and somehow as if you can sense my fears, your whole being exudes an aura of
strength and peace. I kiss you as a tear runs down
my cheek. |
